Egg Manchurian

Egg Manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese dish made with boiled eggs that are coated in a spicy and flavorful sauce. Here is a recipe you can use to make Egg Manchurian at home:

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Oil, for frying

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped

  • 1 small red bell pepper, finely chopped

  • 1 small carrot, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup

  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions:


  1. Boil the eggs in a pot of water for 8-10 minutes. Remove the eggs from the water and let them cool. Once cool, peel the eggs and cut them into halves.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and black pepper. Dip the egg halves in the flour mixture, making sure they are evenly coated.

  3. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the coated eggs to the pan and fry them until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the eggs from the pan and set them aside.

  4. In the same pan, add some more oil and sauté the garlic, onion, bell peppers, and carrot until they are soft and fragrant.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, vinegar, water, sugar, and cornstarch.

  6. Add the sauce mixture to the pan and stir to combine. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  7. Add the fried eggs to the pan and stir to coat them in the sauce.

  8. Serve the Egg Manchurian hot, garnished with some chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy!
